Raising a child with complex needs can be a physically and emotionally exhausting journey. Finding the right support system shouldn’t be. We go beyond meeting your child where they are — we meet them where they want to go.
That's why we've created Spectrum Therapy — a safe haven where your child can learn, grow, and receive comprehensive care from people who truly care. Whether it's emotion regulation, sleeping, eating new foods, sensory difficulties, brushing their teeth, getting dressed, holding a pencil, staying focused in the classroom, riding a bike or following instructions – an OT can help! We are committed to supporting children so their preschool, primary, and high school experiences are more rewarding and successful.
Our in-depth occupational therapy assessments pinpoint the exact areas where your child may need support. We focus on sensory processing, motor skills, and essential daily living activities, allowing us to create a plan that will enhance their independence and quality of life. Some things we assess are:
- Sensory processing; noise, light, touch, smell and sight
- Gross motor
- Fine motor
- Visual spatial awareness
- Visual motor integration
- Play skills including parallel, associative and cooperative play
- School readiness; following group instruction, turn taking, independent play, sitting and sharing
- Self-care; grooming, eating
- Concentration and attention
Our occupational therapists (OTs) are here to help your child build essential life skills and independence.

Communication is something most of us take for granted. For some, understanding others, expressing yourself, finding the right words, and interpreting tone of voice can be tricky.
Through speech therapy, your child can learn to communicate effectively, make friends, understand others, and express their needs to you.
Managing emotions and making friends are difficult for us all, however children with autism (Asperger’s) and other disabilities find these areas particularly hard. By working with a psychologist, your child can learn to manage their emotions and make long lasting friendships.
Exercise physiology is integral in assisting children who may have a developmental, neurological, or physical disability. At Spectrum Therapy Australia, we use personalised, evidence-based exercise programs that empower our little learners to achieve their goals.
Spectrum Therapy Australia runs a range of training and information seminars for parents, teachers and other professionals on a range of specialist areas related to developing social, sensorimotor, emotional and other skill areas for children.
Gain a solid understanding of common childhood presentations and challenges with our in-depth educational masterclasses. These have been developed and reviewed by our multidisciplinary team of psychologists, speech pathologists and occupational therapists. These guides provide evidence-based, thoroughly-researched information to help you confidently navigate pivotal aspects of your child’s life and experiences.
Our clinicians are passionate professionals with advanced degrees in psychology, occupational therapy, or speech pathology.
We're dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices, and we're fully registered with either Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Speech Pathology Australia (SPA), or Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
We offer flexible scheduling options, including weekly and fortnightly visits. We’ll work together to create a schedule that suits your family’s needs and your child’s plan of care.
We encourage you to join your child's sessions to learn new skills and strategies to support their development at home. This helps you practice together between sessions, where we see the most progress!
If your child needs one-on-one time with their therapist, you’re welcome to relax in our waiting area — and enjoy some rare time for yourself!
We are not an NDIS registered provider. However, NDIS participants who have a self-managed or plan managed can access our services. If you’d like to learn more about options, we have a masterclass that covers NDIS and Medicare funding options.
Nope! You don't need a referral to book any of our services. Just make sure to secure a spot on our calendar first so we can prepare for your visit. You can also call us at (02) 9686 2306.
While we can’t process Medicare and private health rebates at our clinic, they both may be available. We accept MBS Item 135 for Children with ASD/PDD and Enhanced Primary Care Program Referral. Private health rebates vary, so we recommend contacting your health fund.
Yes, we do! Our team are available from 3PM-6PM on all weekdays and on Saturday morning.
There is currently no waitlist for Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy services here! There is currently a waitlist for psychology services, however, we frequently find that similar goals (whether it be emotion regulation, improving sleep, social skill development, improving concentration and attention, following instructions) can be supported by our other services. To discuss if your child may be suitable for our other services, please call us on (02) 9686 2306.
